Biography.

Breakout star Taja V. Simpson is an actor, director, keynote speaker, best-selling author and entrepreneur. As an award-winning actor, she has over 20 years of experience in acting with more than 50 credits in TV and film. Perhaps best known for playing Priscilla Owen in BET's #1 Scripted Cable drama, Tyler Perry's "THE OVAL”, Simpson is one of the screen’s most sought-after artists.

Versatility is Taja's greatest accomplishment, which is what led her to guest star in multiple roles on some of the most popular television shows of our time. Most recently she was seen as Cheyenne, the hilarious college friend who robbed Issa & Molly on HBO's Insecure. Grey’s Anatomy, NCIS, A House Divided, Raven's Home, NCIS: LA, KC Undercover, Bold &  the Beautiful, Lethal Weapon & All-American.

Cast as the leading lady, Simpson has since starred in the women's empowerment boxing drama, the most watched movie on TUBI and official selection at the American Black Film Festival (ABFF), "LOLA", where she plays a boxer trying to find her footing in life and in the ring. Romantic comedy “My Online Valentine” where her character Cozi confronts 21st Century dating woes. Starring opposite Tyler Perry in the feature film “Tyler Perry’s Boo2! A Madea Halloween, Simpson played the sassy no nonchalant wife, Deborah. Simpson is sensational and dynamic and has appeared in a spectrum of genres from comedy to mystery thriller.

Sitting in the director’s chair, Taja has over 40 productions from theater and music videos to television and film under her belt. She has coached and mentored hundreds of actors helping them navigate the various aspects of Hollywood and evolve into becoming working actors.

As a Louisiana native Taja attended McNeese State University and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Mass Communications. She initially was on the path to a career in broadcast journalism as a reporter and anchor, but couldn’t shake the calling of being an actor that she discovered as a 7 year old child playing pretend with her cousins. Eventually, she would answer the call and the journey to becoming a working actor would begin. Nothing fills Taja with joy more than being able to take a character and bring it to life in a way that touches, inspires and evokes an emotional connection with her audience.

As a businesswoman, Taja is the founder and CEO of TAJ. Hair Growth that helps regrow and strengthen all hair types and The Working Actors Academy (TWAA). Taja has always had a passion for acting and a desire to serve and uplift others so she decided to combine the two by creating The Working Actors Academy which allows her to mentor and coach aspiring actors everywhere. The Working Actors Academy is an online acting course that not only teaches actors practical tactics to help them evolve as professional actors, but also instills in each student the importance of learning about yourself and engaging in personal development to become the best version of you. She believes by truly knowing yourself and doing the work to become a better person you will become a better actor. Taja is the co-author of Cracking The Acting Code and the Amazon International Bestseller Women Who Shine: 30 Inspiring Stories of Shining Light into the World.
